Since the French State has now supported the decision by Charlie Hebdo to publish the hateful and demonising cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings on him, it has now become a state issue, and Muslim states and their leaders must respond. Muslim states must send a clear message to France that their history and era of demonising Islam and Muslims must come to an end, otherwise they should face political and economic consequences in the Muslim world.
France cannot co-exist and have relations in the Muslim world until they learn to respect and show respect to Islam and Muslims.
They have laws in France where there are restrictions on freedom of speech and they have shown they are able to use them when it is against people they would not allow the media to hate and demonise.
European politicians and media say cartoons are freedom of speech and can’t do no harm. They forgot that a key part of Nazi hate propaganda against the Jewish religion and people was caricatures and cartoons. They have so normalised hate against Islam and Muslims that they forget their own history of genocides against others fuelled by such demonisation.
What they really mean by freedom of speech when it comes to Islam and Muslims, is the freedom to publish their hate. Europe has not moved enough beyond the era of Crusades and anti Islam propaganda.
