Killing of General Qasem Soleimani

Killing of General Qasem Soleimani

As long as the United States and the West are involved in the Middle East there can never be peace in the region.  For the US and the West to leave the region, Muslims of all backgrounds need to have a united front, and solve our own problems including the problem of sectarianism.

If this doesn’t happen we will be fighting nationalist and sectarian wars for the next 50 years.

No matter what we think of those leaders, it should simply be unacceptable for the US and West to bomb and drone Muslim leaders /people to death around the world. If someone has committed a crime they should be brought to justice.  As well as extrajudicial and unlawful killings, this is a racist policy.  They would simply not apply this policy of droning and killing any leaders or individuals to the West, or countries ruled by White Europeans.

If we accept and cheer this policy today, tomorrow other states will also think Muslims are fair game.

The choice is that of Muslims in the region, they can shed each others’ blood for the next 50 years or take another path.

An unmanned drone armed with Hellfire missiles is shown over southern Afghanistan. A Hellfire missile fired from a drone was used in 2011 to kill an American in Yemen who the Obama administration says was an al-Qaida leader. Another American died in that attack, and a 16-year-old American was killed in a separate drone strike.
