President Marcon has proposed more laws aimed at taking control of Islam in France. These are double-standards for a country that prides itself on separation between Church and State, as the French state is now taking control of Islam.

France is the latest EU country to introduce such laws. Germany has already introduced such restrictions of “foreign” Islam. In 2015 Austria reformed its 1912 Law of Islam to include similar measures. These laws ban foreign Imams, and foreign funding for Muslim organisations, and impose an “acceptable” version of Islam upon Muslims.

Muslims are then measured against the state’s acceptable form of religion and met with punitive measures if they fail the tests, which in reality is like the mindset of the Spanish Inquisition. These laws seek to break the bonds, between Muslims in Europe and the Muslim world. By doing so they hope to prevent the rise of a global Muslim power that can protect Muslims in Europe and around the world, and become an independent and prosperous bloc.

This approach applies to no other global religious community, neither the relationship of Jews to the State of Israel, Catholics to the Vatican, Hindu’s to India or Anglicans to their global community. These strategies are against Islam and Muslims and are also being copied by other powers like India and China.

It’s vital that Muslims resist attempts by these governments to redefine Islam.
